Tools for Math Teachers

  1. Strand Maps - http://strandmaps.dls.ucar.edu/ - The Science Literacy Maps are an interactive tool for teachers and learners to explore specific science and math concepts. The maps illustrate connections between concepts as well as how concepts build upon one another across grade levels. Clicking on a concept within the maps will show resources for the concept including related AAAS Project 2061 Benchmarks, assessments, misconceptions, and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Explore strand maps for "The Nature of Mathematics" and "The Mathematical World".
  2. Kahn Academy - http://www.khanacademy.org/ - The Khan Academy is a non-profit[2] educational organization, created in 2006 by American[3] educator Salman Khan, a graduate of MIT. With the stated mission of "providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere", the website supplies a free online collection of more than 3,100 micro lectures via video tutorials stored on YouTube teaching mathematics, history, healthcare and medicine, finance, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, economics, cosmology, organic chemistry, American civics, art history, microeconomics and computer science.[4] (description from Google.com - 4/15/12)
